Federation is committed to providing an easily accessible, high-quality, complete continuum of care for the aging, the financially and socially vulnerable, and those with special needs.
In recent years, the Foundation provided funding for the following programs, in support of those in need in our community:
A partnership between three of our partner agencies - Jewish Association on Aging, Jewish Community Center, and Jewish Family & Children's Service, Agewell Pittsburgh helps older adults continue to live independently by identifying risks and connecting them to services that allow them to remain safe in their homes.
Provides direct aid to low-income individuals and families while providing long-term solutions to enhance quality-of-life and/or self-sufficiency of the most vulnerable people in our community.
Special Needs Support
Provides advocacy, training, consultation and resources to include people with special needs in the fabric of Jewish life.
Provide direct aid to individuals and families who have emergencies for food, clothing, shelter and medical purposes.
Riverview Towers Programs and Meal Subsidies
Enables Riverview Towers to bring in programs and activities for the spiritual and emotional needs of homebound seniors, while providing additional subsidies to low-income elderly to participate in the already-reduced price of the daily meal program.
